New Windows 10 Redstone Preview Build to be Released This Week – Gabe Aul

Microsoft released a substantial cumulative update to Windows 10 PCusers yesterday, bringing a number of fixes and improvements. Earlier this month, we also received one of the biggest Insider Preview builds released yet, following Microsoft’s Build conference. Now, Gabe Aul is back at it, trying to tease his followers saying that another Preview build might be coming our way.

“This week looks pretty good” for a new Windows 10 build

During a conversation (if a Twitter-talk can be termed as one) with his followers about the recently released cumulative update, Microsoft’sVice President of WDG Engineering Systems, Gabe Aul said that we might actually receive a new Insider Preview build this week. When asked if any new build is coming today, Aul said that “this week looks pretty good” for the release.

Heading full speed forward, Microsoft is planning to deliver the first wave of its Redstone update (now called, Windows 10 Anniversary Update) this summer. Launching in July, the company has only three months to showcase all the new features and improvements to those on the Insider program and get their feedback to improve the update before releasing it to the public.

Last Insider Preview build 14316 brought in a huge number of new features and feature enhancements. The Insider Preview build introduced following features and improvements to the operating system:

Cortana cross-device features, including low battery notifications, find my phone, and others. Ability to share Map directions across all the devices. Edge Extensionsfor News and Updates Skype UWP Preview app Action Center improvements, including the ability to mark app notifications (Normal, High, or Priority) that are more important to a user Updated emoji, with support for skin tone modification Dark Mode– ability to “universally toggle between dark and light modes via Settings > Personalization > Colors.” New Update Progress experience Virtual desktop improvements Updated battery settings and battery saving experience
